DESCRIPTION:
French, comptoise wall clock from the Morbier region, 2-tr crown verve mov't, C.1840, less weights.
CONDITION:
the porcelain dial has damage at the center and by numeral 11 and has been painted over in those spots; still many hairlines. This movement has prayer-repeat feature that strikes the hours exactly at 12, and then repeats the hour 2 minutes later. Ht as shown on wall 54" ht of dial surround 12". Note pressed brass dial surround features a brace of horses pulling a primitive plow at planting time, also 2 farmers.
